"Have you ever thought, after visiting a city, that in the past men “moved mountains” to build certain things? The building of Le Landeron was a bit of a feat. Building a fortified town in the middle of the marshes, what a job! The town even had to be raised 1 m 50 in the 14th century because it was collapsing, can you imagine! Le Landeron has lots of stories to tell…. I really didn’t expect such an interesting tour! I loved the hills in the hamlet of Combes 40 minutes on foot from the station, where you’ll find a little chapel built using the famous Golden ratio. From these hills, you can admire the view of Le Landeron and think of everything you learnt during the tour... the past catches up with you, taking you on a fantastic journey in time!"
