"Discover frogs playing cards, at the café table, in a classroom, at the barber’s, dressed as soldiers... This collection presents satirical scenes from everyday life in 1850. It was in fact an officer in Napoleon’s guard who took an interest in these amphibians around 1850 and made them his hobby. He extracted the innards through their mouths and refilled them with sand before putting them into displays. These naturally preserved frogs in human postures are the museum’s main attraction but in fact they only occupy part of it. The history museum traces the region’s folklore and history with objects and weapons from the Bronze Age and lacustrian period. It also features a large collection of railway lanterns and signals from 1880 to the present day."
