"After having taken a walk of about an hour through the alleys, under the arcades and on the city wall of this small historic town, we sit down on a terrace for coffee and a local speciality called Nidelkuchen (cream cake). Not to be missed! In the afternoon, we explore the lakeside part of the town, swim in the lake and take a boat tour. Murten is a very charming place and offers a peaceful and relaxed holiday atmosphere. A visit to this small town rich in culture and on the border of two languages, cantons and religions is more than worthwhile - we'll be back!"

Climb up to the city wall of this small medieval town. You will find yourself in a relaxed, mediterranean climate. Have coffee under the arcades or take a stroll along the lake – time stands still for a few hours of pleasurable leisure.
Good to know
A city tour of approx. 1 hour can be taken on foot (brochures available at the tourism office), on the City Tour Train Line, or accompanied by a guide (upon reservation). For families, there is a free "treasure hunt" form available on www.murtentourismus.ch or at the tourism office.
