Tavannes‘ architecture of the late 19th/beginning of the 20th century was strongly affected by the "Heimatstil" as well as the Art Nouveau style promoted by the art college of La Chaux de Fonds. The large number of buildings constructed between 1900 and 1930 changed the structure and appearance of the town in a radical way.
