"The Vully is best known for its famous wines, but what I like most about this region is the charm of the winemaking villages with their narrow alleyways, vegetable gardens and wonderful houses adorned with colourful flowers. Crossing the bridge over the river Broye, you will see the outline of the hill and, at its feet, Sugiez, Nant, Praz and Môtier, protected villages flanked by the lake to the south and the vineyard to the north. Walking along the wine trail gives me a chance to daydream as I enjoy a fabulous view of the old rooftops of the winemakers’ houses, the lake and Murten. I am glad to end the day by stopping off in one of the villages to visit a cellar or enjoy a plate of perch fillets in one of the many restaurants by the lake shore."
