"Together with my girlfriend, who is more of a nature than a sports lover, we went to Les Bois. To play a round of golf? Hardly, since it was in the middle of winter... we were going to do some snowshoe hiking and took off in the direction of Le Cerneux-au-Maire. Fortunately, the route was marked, because we could have easily gotten lost in all those places with funny names, especially me, coming from Soleure. After four hours we made haste to return to Les Bois because some heavy snowfall had set in."

Godd to know

  • Option to eat along the way, at the Hotel-Restaurant Le Cerneux-au-Maire.
  • Snowshoe hire at the CJ stations in Le Noirmont, Saignelégier and Tramelan. Prices including equipment and one-day CJ ticket: adults CHF 29.00. Children and concessions CHF 25.00 (up to size 33: CHF 8.00).
  • Jura Railways also offer raquettes-fondue packages.
  • There is a possibility to hike from Les Bois to Saignelégier. The route of 15 km is best done in two days, spending the night in the surrounding area.
